Objective:

  • Establish branding and identity of cafe. Design and maintain website and any print design needs.

Urban Grind café is a small, artsy coffeeshop located in midtown Atlanta. It is colorfully decorated and regularly attracts the artsy community and nearby Georgia Tech students with its affinity for local art and spoken word poetry. I was brought on to design and develop the website and assist with the marketing strategy.

Because I was inspired by the Urban Grind’s commitment to the local arts scene I turned an especially strong eye to detail and designed their website as if it were painted. Colors were chosen to match the interior décor of the café, and I photographed several of the event used in the home page slide show. Social Media links are featured prominently along the top of the site. An event blog and Google Calendar are used to keep customers informed of all events. I also designed the company’s YouTube Channel where promo videos were attached and organized. Store front banners complements website's color and style and are featured prominently to passing drivers.

With thorough SEO techniques I have attained high ranking for Urban Grind in Google and Yahoo including number 3 for coffee Atlanta and number 3 for coffee shop Atlanta. Because of its highly creative design and high search engine ranking the café has been approached by several marketing firms for events such as a location for a music video for the artist Sierra and a community grass-roots meeting place by current Mayor of Atlanta Kasim Reed.
